Testimonies

"In commissioning a number of performances I have found that as an artistic director Sarah can, with out exception, be relied upon to create a unique and engaging script that really gets to the heart of the issues we want to explore that both engages and challenges the audience providing high level outcomes for children and young people.

WritingEvery performance, without exception, which Sarah has written for us has been tailor made to directly address the individual issues we bring to her and feedback from the schools and young people has been extremely positive about the way in which they allow the children to explore some very sensitive and challenging issues.

The challenge which Sarah never fails to deliver on is to take the very emerging ideas that we may have as outcomes and turn those into a professional entertaining, engaging and thought provoking scripted performance and professionally facilitated workshop that really engages children at an individual level. Training"Sarah is an open minded and dynamic leader working in innovative and experimental ways to enhance the learning of others. She is always professional in her dealings with all levels of staff within my organisation. Sarah incorporates my ideas into her session planning to ensure we have a seamless delivery of learning goals and forum theatre.

Sarah interacts effectively and efficiently with her own workforce as well as ours and is able to assert herself with groups and individuals alike within the training environment. This has led to a high degree of trust and respect having developed between us as individuals and as organisations."

Education"I have often commissioned Sarah to work with me on projects, knowing that her involvement brings benefits far beyond other drama facilitators. She works extremely effectively with teachers, ensuring that her drama work fits within the national curriculum, or the literacy framework and has also been a valuable source of professional development for me and other teachers she has worked with. In one particular instance, working with me to ensure the workshops linked into my literacy lessons, Sarah was instrumental in raising a third of my year five class to a level five in writing by the end of the school year. Most importantly though, whichever children Sarah works with over a period of time, they inevitably become much more confident, assured and articulate children who value themselves, their peers and their own contributions to school life."

TheatreThis cast work as a powerful ensemble, their focus was unswerving and they had a really clear sense of what they were saying to each other on stage.
